DPA mics record Sting's winter opus at Durham Cathedral
Sting’s recording engineer Donal Hodgson recently recorded the artist for A Winter’s Night…Live from Durham Cathedral; a concert version of his If On A Winter’s Night album for DVD release.
Hodgson selected a wide range of DPA microphones to assist him in this complex task, which presented many challenges.

DPA microphones used for WOMEX opening ceremony
Experienced live sound engineer Torben Sminge was responsible for the opening ceremony of the world music festival WOMEX.
"The DPA 4099 proved itself to be the solution I have been looking for for years. I used it for acoustic guitars, mandolas, mandolins, violin, viola, bass, hardanger fiddle, accordion, alto and soprano saxophone and cowhorn."

Major live sound and broadcast projects in Asia
In Seoul, DPA’s Korean distributor Best Leading Solutions supplied 50 DPA 4099 live instrument mics and 20 DPA 4061 miniatures for a concert hosted by national broadcaster KBS.
Meanwhile, in Beijing, CCTV used four DPA 5100 mobile surround mics for a live broadcast of the 60th Anniversary of National Day celebrations at Tiananmen Square.
