DPA 4017mk2 Shotgun – a great mic just got even better

DPA 4017mk2 Shotgun – a great mic just got even better

Since its launch, user feedback on the DPA 4017 Shotgun has been positive and constructive.

It has undergone continuous improvements and the mic is now an even better choice for the sound engineer.

These improvements – along with the new low-cut filter point – have resulted in our decision to re-launch the shotgun mic under the name of 4017mk2.

In the DPA 4017mk2 we have:

• improved RF immunity
• reduced perceived high frequency noise even further
• modified low-cut filter: lower -3 dB point changed to 120 Hz

Reviews of the original 4017 Shotgun were enthusiastic (see Audio Media and Pro Audio Review) and your input has resulted in a reliable shotgun mic you can always trust for numerous recording needs.

New addition to the surround accessory range

If you are using the 5100 Mobile Surround Microphone outdoors you will appreciate the new accessory that has been added to the surround range.

The WJ5100 Windjammer for the 5100 can provide up to 15 dB of wind noise attenuation at 100 Hz.

The windjammer is easily mounted on the 5100 with or without the OC5100 Outdoor Cover underneath.

DPA mics record location ADR for Spanish blockbuster Agora

DPA 4006 omnidirectional mics have been used for crowd ADR sessions shot on Agora, a film by director Alejandro Amenabar.

A film set had been built at Fort Ricasoli in Malta. This was an ideal location to shoot the crowd ADR, with its stone walls, partly destroyed churches, corridors and basements providing wonderful natural acoustics.
